ABSTRACT: In the present study, the antioxidant and antidiabetic activities of various solvent extracts of leaves of Marsdenia Brevifolia was evaluated.  Marsdenia brevifolia is an erect woody in nature shrub growing to 1meter high and weekely twinning with white latex. The leaves are generally oval outline in shaped. Five extracts of Marsdenia brevifolia were prepared namely hexane, chloroform, ethylacetate, ethanol and water extracts. Phytochemical screening of the five extracts were performed. Invitro antioxidant property has been performed for all the five extracts by ABTS and DPPH techniques. The IC50 values were compared with the standards ascorbic acid and rutin. Invitro antidiabetic property has been performed for all the five extracts by inhibitory activity of alpha glucosidase and alpha amylase. The extracts had esssential phenol and flavonoid contents. The antioxidant and antidiabetic activities of the plant extracts may be due to the rich amount of phenols and flavonoids. Therefore, the plant could be considered as a very good source of antioxidant & antidiabetic with strong therapeutic efficacy.
