Abstract: Abstract: Welding is the process of joining similar metals by the application of heat. During welding the edges of the pieces are either melted or brought to plastic condition. This process is used for making permanent joints, which is obtained by homogeneous mixture of two materials. Since the introduction of automatic orbital welding in pipeline application, significant improvements have been acquired in welding systems. Gradually the need for automation hiked and industries started to hire automatic machines instead of manpower. So the role played by automation in the industry has been increased which helps in the increment of productivity and quality in many aspects. Even though the investments for installation are high, we can make some adjustments to reach the expected results. Automation is an alternate technique for production in perspective of increasing qualitative and quantitative competence of its industries and also the time required for machine to complete a process is far low than the time acquired by human which reduces the manpower and increases the productivity.
